Instagram’s testing some cool new sticker options for feed posts and Stories, which could provide new opportunities for marketers and creators in the app.
First off, Instagram’s working on a new AI “Backdrop” sticker, which enables you to replace the background of any image.

This new feature can automatically identify a main focus or let you choose one manually.
After the background is gone, you may utilize the Backdrop feature to choose a new one from a carousel of choices or make one by entering a prompt. An example of this would be the “National Park” seen in the screenshot below.
When you share the Story, the prompt becomes a sticker that others can then use.
Lindsey Gamble, Director of Influencer Innovation at Mavrck, shared a screenshot on Where to find Backdrop located under the sticker menu.
Meta is developing a similar backdrop replacement option for ads in its Ad Manager products. However, the Backdrop tool may be more widely used as it is included into the standard composer making it perfect for Creators.

To change the backdrop of your photo:
- When sharing a photo to your story, tap
at the top. - Tap Backdrop .
- Tap any areas on your photo to select or deselect them. When finished, tap Next.
- Enter a prompt, in English, for the backdrop. Tap .
- Two options for your backdrop will be generated.
- If you don’t like either option, tap to generate another background from the same prompt.
- To change the prompt, tap it at the bottom and enter a new one.
- If you don’t like either option, tap
- Tap the option you’d like to use, then tap Next.
- When you’re ready to share, tap Your Story in the bottom left.
The prompt you use will be added to your story as a sticker. You can tap and drag it to reposition, or drag it to 
to delete.
Note:
- Some areas of your photo, like people or animals, may be automatically selected. You can still change if these areas are selected by tapping on them.
- Uses of AI images must follow our Community Guidelines and Terms of Use. Depending on your prompt, the images generated may go against our guidelines. Sharing AI generated images that go against our guidelines will be treated the same as sharing other content that goes against our guidelines. If you share generated images that go against our guidelines, your story may be removed and your account may be restricted or disabled.
- AI images generated automatically in response to your text prompt may not be accurate or appropriate.
- Be mindful before including any personal information in your text prompt (examples: name, address, email, or phone number).

In-stream ordering
A new “Get Orders” sticker is also being tested, allowing brands to build products in-stream and attach them to feed posts or stories to drive for direct response.
As you can see in these example the process is essentially simplified product tagging, which would give you another way to drive orders directly from your IG content, without needing an Instagram Shop.
Both of these options are in testing, and there’s no official word on a broader roll-out as yet. But they could be handy additions for brands looking to maximize their product display options in the app.
