Stan Community is an exciting new feature that allows you to connect directly with your customers in a private space! You will now be able to offer a paid or free Community that’s connected directly with your other products. With Community, your audience can:

Setting Up Your Community
- Go to the My Store tab, scroll down, and click + Add Product at the bottom.
- Select the Community product.
- Head over to the Community tab and click the Create button. It’ll open up a second window to name your Community.
- Choose a name for your Community! It could be based off of you, your Stan handle, or the product your customers purchased.
- Update your cover photo, so your Community showcases your style and brand.
- Create a post to share content, announcements, and information with your members.
- Add an About section to share additional information about you and your Community.
- Add any Helpful Links to your members for easy access.
- Add additional information under the Resources tab that your Community can go back and reference!
- Members of your Community can also access all products they’ve purchased from you under the My Products tab.
- Lastly, you can update the following in your Settings:
- Community name
- Profile picture
- Display name
- Introduction message new members will receive
- Notification cadence
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Community included on the Creator Plan?
Yes, Community is available on all Stan subscriptions at no extra cost!
What will my customers receive once they purchase Community?
Your customers will receive an email invitation like the screenshot below! They’ll need to click the “Join Now” button to be taken to the login page.
How do my customers login to Community?
After receiving the email invitation, your customer will be taken to a login page. If you’re a current Stan Creator with an active subscription, your login information will be the same as your store.
If your customer is not a current Stan Creator, they’ll need to create a password using the email address that was used for the purchase.
How do I access Community after it’s created?
After you create your Community, you can bookmark the link and sign-in whenever you’d like. This is the same experience for your customers.
Can I manually Grant Product Access to Community?
Yes, you can Grant Product Access to your Community based on past customer purchases.
Can customers be automatically added to Community based off a specific product purchase?
Yes, you can toggle on the Community Integration in the Options tab of your product editor to add a free Community subscription to any product purchase!
Can I manually remove or revoke access to Community?
Yes, you can remove a member from your Community by selecting your Members from your home page of your community. Then, find the member and use the dropdown menu to select Remove. Here’s what that looks like:
In order for a customer to be added to Community, do they need a Stan store?
No, a customer does not need a Stan store to have access to your Community.
Can you create a post by recording a voice note?
Yes, you can record a voice note and post it in your Community. We do not yet have the ability for someone to respond with a voice note – this is coming soon!
Can I have more than one Community on Stan?
As of right now, you can only create and host one Community on Stan.
Can I offer a trial period for my Community?
As of right now, we don’t offer the ability to provide your members with a free trial period. This is a great feature request!
Can you access Community through the Stan app?
Not yet, we’re still working on adding Community to the app. For now, please use desktop or mobile browser to access Community!
Can I stream a live or offer a live call through Community?
No, you cannot stream a live or offer a live call through Community. This is a great feature request and we’ve added it to the list!
Can I create categories to organize my Community?
Yes, you can add categories to your Community! Please use the instructions in this article to learn how!
Can I add admin access to my Community, so someone can help me manage it?
Yes, you can add a admins and moderators to your Community by selecting your Members from the home page of your community. Then, find the member and use the dropdown menu to change their status to Admin. Here’s what that looks like:
Can I create folders within the Resources tab?
No, you cannot create folders within the Resources tab, but this is a great feature request!
Do you offer a drip feature inside of Community? For example, giving a customer access to a product after being a part of the Community for 3 months.
No, you do not yet offer a drip feature for Community, but totally see the benefit. This is added to our list of feature requests!
Can customers customize their notifications or how often they’d like to be updated on activity in Community?
Yes, customers can customize how often they receive notifications in their Settings!
Where will customers sign up for Community?
Your Community will be a separate product in your Store – your customers can purchase a subscription to Community just like they would for any other product.
Community can also be attached to an existing product with free access. This is great for high ticket items!
Can I categorize products and resources into folders?
As of right now, we do not have the ability to create folders for products or resources. This is added to our list of feature requests!
Can I offer a monthly and yearly option for the Community subscription?
No, you cannot offer an option between monthly and yearly payments for Community. This is added to our list of feature requests!
Can I create membership tiers for Community subscriptions?
No, you cannot offer different tiers of access for Community. This is added to our list of feature requests!
Can you send private or direct messages?
Not yet! This is added to our list of feature requests!
How are the mobile capabilities of Community?
You can access Community on your mobile browser and it will have the exact same functionality as it does on desktop!
Can this replace Skool?

Can I respond to comments with a video?
No, you cannot respond with a video in a comment. This is added to our list of feature requests!
Will Community work internationally?
Yes, Community can be accessed from anywhere Stan is available!
Can Community be free or discounted with a code?
Yes and yes! What and how you charge for Community is completely up to you!
How will customers be notified when new posts are created?
Your members will receive post notification emails and can edit their email preferences at any time!
Can Community members upload?
Yes, Community members can upload files. As long as the video is a link or a file, your customer can upload it to a post!
Can I upload Looms to my resources?
Yes, if you download your Loom as a video, you should be able to upload the video to your Resources tab!
Can I attach Community to a high ticket product for free and sell subscriptions to Community in my store?
Yes, you can attach a free Community membership to a high ticket item while also selling paid subscriptions to Community in your store! You can add a Community membership to your high ticket product in the Options tab of your product editor by toggling on “Community Integration!”
How can I import Community members from another platform to my Stan Community?
You can import and tag your contacts in the Customers tab and then, filtering for that tag, grant access to Community to those customers!
Can my Community members see the roster of my Community?
Yes, all of your Community members are able to see who else is in the Community, however, they are able to customize their own names.
Will Community members be able to see locked content or be able to purchase products they have not purchased yet?
No, we currently don’t have an option for members to view locked products in Community, however, this is on our feature request list!
Can I offer Community as an affiliate product?
Yes, you can add an affiliate link to your Community!
